With lots of talent on your doorstep, there is a strong case for Islington businesses to recruit locally.
Volunteering and mentoring locally can also develop your staff as well as giving local people new skills.
Over 100 local businesses are already on board with Islington Aspires by:
• Employing locally
• Offering volunteering and mentoring
• Paying staff the living wage
• Championing workplace health and wellbeing
• Developing apprenticeships and entry level roles
This site gives practical tips and advice to other employers who would like to follow their example.
City and Islington College and Islington Council are hosting a breakfast briefing to help get local businesses up to speed with the new apprenticeships reforms.
The event will run from 8.30am–11.30am on Thursday, 9 March at Islington Town Hall.
